Serapa Hunting Lodge

Serapa is an indigenous word that means “the chase” and embodies all the finer points of the hunt. For almost three and a half decades, the Reyneke family has been welcoming visitors to their own piece of Kalahari Eden. All 46 000 acres of it.

Now it’s Apie and Yolande Reyneke’s turn to personally  invite you to experience one of the last great tracts of hunting land. A place we call home, and where we offer you and your family an unforgettable experience.

When you have tasted the dust, or the scent of the first rain – Africa will hook you for life. When you long to hear the haunted sound of the coucal or listen to the rumbling of the elephant – you’ve been away too long. Coast Garden Route and Cape Town

There are only a few places in Africa where one can relax after a hunt by taking in a sight-seeing safari in one of the continent’s most famous areas – and at Serapa you can do just that.

We are located in the heart of South Africa’s Garden Route, and offer 5-star accommodation in Serapa’s house which is situated right on the beach. There are four suite rooms with magnificent views of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean. The Garden Route is one of the must-see attractions in South Africa, annually enticing thousands of foreign visitors.

The very name speaks for itself, being a luscious green piece of Earth with the most beautiful indigenous forests, mountains, lakes and rivers, fringed by the ocean that is home to whales, dolphins and many other marine species. Most of the Garden Route is Green Belt area, managed by South African Nature Conservation, which makes it a paradise for animal and bird life. And if you are interested in the past, you’ll also find many places rich in history and African culture.

We also offer trips to Cape Town, only a three-hour drive from Serapa, and there is much to see and do as you explore the beautiful Mother City at the foot of Table Mountain.

The choice is yours – a sight-seeing holiday, a great hunt on its own, or a combination of the two. Whichever you choose, you will leave with a trophy-load of wonderful Serapa memories.
